We can all boast about how many Facebook friends or Twitter followers we have.
It seems that today’s generation have no sense of the meaning of true friendship, instead all they focus on is numbers.
To them, numbers matter, the higher the number the bigger the boost of self-confidence and the larger their egos grow.
But truly how many would come running when you really need them ?
How many could you trust with your secrets?
Some people need an immediate reality check.
‘True’ friendships are marked out by who really cares, and not the number of friends we have on social media.
Are we not already just numbers by far too many, be it doctors, companies etc etc.
It really is a sad state of affairs when you lose touch with reality and no longer know that true friendship is about face to face communication, seeing facial expressions, hearing tones of voices and truly caring how your friend is feeling.
I for one, do not want to be a number.
Beautifully put….. we are losing our souls
