You are not your past habits.
You are not your past failures.
You are not how others have at one time treated you.
You are only who you think you are right now in this moment.
You are only what you do right now in this moment.
You are who you are and you have what you have, right now.
The important thing is simply to find one positive thought that inspires and helps you move forward. Hold on to it strongly, and focus on it.
You may feel like you don’t have much, or anything at all, but you have your mind to inspire you. And that’s really all you need to start moving forward.

My simple philosophy
Simply
Fire in our hearts
When writing the story of your life, don’t let someone else hold the pen.
Make conscious choices every day that align your actions with your values and dreams. Because the way you live each day is a sentence in the story of your life.
Each day you make a choice as to whether the sentence ends with a period, a question mark, or an exclamation point.
Don’t be pushed by your problems. Be led by your dreams. Live the life you want to live. Be the person you want to remember years from now. Make decisions and act on them.
Make mistakes, fall and try again. Even if you fall a thousand times, at least you won’t have to wonder what could have been. At least you will know in your heart that you gave your dreams your best shot.
Each of us has a fire in our hearts burning for something. It’s our responsibility in life to find it and keep it lit.
This is your life, and it’s a short one.
Don’t let others extinguish your flame. Try what you want to try. Go where you want to go. Dream with your eyes open until you know exactly what it looks like. Then do at least one thing every day to make it a reality.
And as you strive to achieve your goals, you can count on there being some fairly substantial disappointments along the way. Don’t get discouraged, the road to your dreams may not be an easy one. Think of these disappointments as challenges.. tests of persistence and courage.
At the end of the road, more often than not, we regret what we didn’t do far more than what we did.
Suicide Season
No words can describe the power of this post, a must read.
‘Ignoring your passion is slow suicide. Never ignore what your heart pumps for.’
- Kevin Claiborne
Let’s play a game of Russian Roulette.
You and I are seated at a table in a smoke filled room; there’s an old six shooter positioned perfectly between us with a single round floating in one of its chambers. The heavy aromas of mildew and fear cling to your skin causing you to perspire. We’re alone. There’s no one here to save us; the only entrance to the cell is destined to remain locked until only one of us remains. You’re scared. So am I. Our lives have been reduced to this moment where we’ll play a game of chance to see who survives. Nothing else matters right now. It’s just you and I.
There’s a coin beside the gun. We’ll flip to see who shoots first. I pick it up and use my thumb…

Someone out there
There is someone out there
The one that gives you…..
strength, courage, determination, hope, will, belief, passion, joy, without even knowing it
The love they give/gave to you makes you find the inner you and there isn’t anything you can not do because just knowing they are/were in your life, heart and soul makes you the best you.
Seconds of your life
Lean into your struggles. Act with courage. Maintain an open mind. Practice kindness and compassion. Keep your promises. Forgive.
This is how you get from where you are to where you want to be because without you even noticing it, the universe gradually changes caterpillars into butterflies, sand into pearls, and coal into diamonds. You’re being worked on too, so hang in there.
Just because something isn’t happening for you right now, doesn’t mean it will never happen.
If we counted our blessings instead of our money, we would all be a lot richer. Happiness is there if you want it to be. You just have to see that it’s wrapped in beauty and hidden delicately between the seconds of your life.
If you never stop for a minute to notice, you might miss it.
The simple fact that you are even here, alive, on this planet is a divine miracle, and you should not spend the time you have being busy, being miserable.
Every moment you get is a gift, so stop focusing on unhappy things, and spend your moments on things that truly matter to your heart.
ADDICT
I personally believe, one of the hardest challenges we face in life is to simply live in our own skin…to just be right here, right now, regardless of where we are. Too often we needlessly distract ourselves with anything and everything…food, shopping, television, tabloid news, online social networks, video games, cell phones, iPods, etc… basically anything to keep us from being fully present in the current moment.
We use compulsive work, compulsive exercise, ect, ect, to escape from ourselves and the realities of living.
In fact, many of us will go to great lengths to avoid the feeling of being alone in an undistracted environment.
So we succumb to hanging-out with just about anybody to avoid the feeling of solitude, as being alone means dealing with our true feelings…fear, anxiety, happiness, anger, joy, resentment, disappointment, anticipation, sadness, excitement, despair, and so on and so forth.
It doesn’t really matter if our feelings are positive or negative…they are overwhelming and exhausting, so we prefer to numb ourselves to them.
The bottom line is that every one of us is an
“ADDICT”
and what we are addicted to is avoiding ourselves.
Acknowledging this addiction is the first step to healing it.
Try noticing with curiosity, and without judgement, all of the ways in which you avoid being in your own skin, right here, right now, in this present moment we call life.
We just might learn a thing or to.
Just the way you are
Good morning, and welcome to another wet dull summers day. (I don’t think summers turning up this year)
Having to remind myself of this today
It’s never too late or too early to be who you are capable of being. There’s no time limit, you can simply start and stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. You can make the best or the worst of it. It’s up to you.
Try and do things that startle you. Feel things you’ve never felt before. Spend time with people who help you grow. Live a life you’re proud of.
If you find that you’re not, have the courage to make a change.
You are unique.
You are unrepeatable.
There is a magic about you that is all your own.
Having a low opinion of yourself is not humility, it’s self-destruction. Holding your uniqueness in high regard is not egotism, it’s a necessary precondition to happiness and success.
You deserve to wear a smile in your heart. Not because of what you have or what you do, but because of who you are.
Yes, you are changing each day, but you are always amazing just as you are.
A little piece of me
So for those of you that don’t know me, take a step into my world.
A little piece of me.
Life is pretty damn busy, with all the hospital appointments that takes up most of my week, to running a home, to play time, bath time etc, etc with my beautiful daughter, working from home and trying my hardest to keep on top of this blog, to trying out new crafts and learning new skills well trying anyway 😜
On top of this I was crazy enough to buy a house a few months ago that is a dump to say the least.
I have taken on the biggest project I have ever undertaken, I sometimes think”what the hell have I done”
It’s a money pit but I hope it will be worth it.
I have so many ideas running around in my head, way to many to make sense of.
I want each room to be perfect, but not perfect as most would see fit, I mean I want it to be perfect for my life, my style but I want it more than anything to be part of me.
To sum up my life, my dreams, my goals, my hurt, my happiness, my loneliness (yes at times I feel trapped and cut off from the world, my own doing I know, a move so far away from friends and family was the right thing to do, so that I can try to find myself again but it is also painful at times, I miss certain friends and family, I miss the smell of the sea in the morning breeze, I miss the hustle and bustle of city life, I miss so much about Brighton but I know now that it will never be my home again, and in true honestly it never really felt like home after I found the real meaning of home)
Back to where I was…… I want this house to represent everything that makes us human. It’s a tall task I know, one I know I will probably not achieve. But it doesn’t really matter in the end, it’s just bricks and mortar. I know because I already feel it, that this house isn’t a home, not to me. But hopefully it will be for Marly, somewhere where she feels safe, loved, warm, and settled.
That the most important thing.
So this huge challenge I have set myself is kinda at a stand still, with no energy to paint or the lack of making those final choices, it’s going slow, my office/craft room is nearly done and I’m liking it so far (I think)
I guess the hardest task is, how do I make it perfect when I have felt/had perfect and nothing ever will be/feel that way again.
I guess for now all I can do it try.
