As music and lyrics have been my life for many years now, not only in my job but music has been my saving grace over the years.
Not only do I love to dance, but listening to a piece of music that touches your soul, it connects to your feelings and your life in many ways.
Lyrics put to a melody can touch you more than any words that another human can deliver.
Every single one of us can relate to one chosen song and place that to a memory, a time or a person.
I have many songs on my play lists that have been dedicated to me from friends and family over time, but one song is what sticks in my mind more than others.
It holds deep meaning and helped me recover from a very traumatic stage in my journey of life.
When all else fails, music can really be a saving grace.
I really can’t believe a kiss like ours is only ever going to be a memory.
It’s wrong, really wrong that a kiss that powerful, so meaningful, so real, so deep, so lustful, so intense, so knees giving way, just so god damn perfect, won’t be ever felt again unless it’s in memory or dream.
Every time it rains, it stops raining.
After darkness there is always light.. you are reminded of this every morning, but still you often forget, and instead choose to believe that the night will last forever. It won’t.
Nothing lasts forever.
So if things are good right now, enjoy it. It won’t last. If things are bad, don’t worry because it won’t last either. (so I’m told)
Just because life isn’t easy at the moment, doesn’t mean you can’t laugh.
Just because something is bothering you, doesn’t mean you can’t smile.
Every moment gives you a new beginning and a new ending. You get a second chance, every second. You just have to take it and make the best of it.
It’s not over if you’ve lost.
If you believe in something, keep trying. Don’t let the shadows darken the doorstep of your future.
Spending today complaining about yesterday won’t make tomorrow any brighter. Take action instead. Let what you’ve learned improve how you live. Make a change and follow your heart, your dreams, your soul.
The mind plays games with you and those thoughts are just too much to deal with, to get your head around.
Suddenly the walls crack just a little and the emotions you have locked deep inside them bleed through the cracks.
Those months, years of trying so hard to stay strong, to stay positive and just to stay on top of every broken emotion.
The heart shatters all over again, you feel every pain, every heartache, ever loss all over again and all you want is to close your eyes, get lost in the darkness, let it take over you, suffocate you and take you away near to return.
Death is better than facing the loss, the heartache, the coldness, the silence. The knowing that life just can’t live up to what it once was.
I have no idea how to come through this, how to carry on anymore.
Loss, love, life and health have beaten me to an inch of my life and I’m clinging to the edge with all my might knowing that the one person that may just be able to save me, is the one wishing I would fall.
Try something new, be a bit daring, and explore your curiosity.
If you want to get really good at something, let go of the notion of perfection and replace it with the notion of endless playful exploration. We don’t stop dreaming and exploring because we grow old.. we grow old because we stop dreaming and exploring.
Here’s to a day of unknown territory and learning new things.
Fall in love, with an aim, an ambition, a passion.
If you lost everything but your mind, heart and health, what would be your reason to wake up every morning with a smile?
There’s definitely a fire burning inside you. It’s your job to find it and keep it lit. As we grow older, with all of our responsibilities, our passions and hobbies often seem like an indulgence. They shouldn’t be. They should be a requirement. Even if you can only dedicated 20 minutes a day to something you love, do it… No excuses, no regrets.
The most important decision you will ever make is what you do with the time that is given to you.
Let every day be a part of a dream you can touch. Let every day contain passion for something you love. Let every day be a great example of a life truly lived.
A very special lady wrote this for my wonderful caring, loving friend who has moved on to what will all hope is a better place.
(I can’t believe it’s been two years already. We all miss that cheeky smile, that dry wit and that heart of gold.)
I know I have shared this before with you all but it seems right to post it again.
Touching the mist.
there`s a little piece of you in a special place in me, there`s a little piece of me in a special place in you, forever in unison, we dance away, never to touch, like the night and day.
I threw my inspiration……. into the river of life, a journey of infinite currents……. from love to strife, so close to meeting, nearly virtual free, then……. a turbulent current….. took thee, A rapid…… a disconnection……… in the physical we are split, within spiritual harmony for us…… a new path may be lit, so this is not the finale, nor is this the END…. Just part of our cosmic journey, My would have been lover, my spiritual friend.
You are like a building with stained-glass windows.
You always shimmer and shine when the sun is out, but when darkness sets in your true magnificence is revealed only if there is light shining from within you.
It’s your duty, and yours alone, to keep your inner light shining bright. So learn to love yourself first. Loving yourself does not mean being selfish and narcissistic, or disregarding others. Rather, it means welcoming yourself as the most honoured guest in your own heart and mind…a guest worthy of extra care and respect. Whatever you are doing, love yourself for doing it. Whatever you are feeling, love yourself for feeling it. That’s a great start.
You have everything you need within you to become the best possible version of yourself.
Believe that you can.
Believe that you’re capable of pushing harder and farther than you have before.
Believe that you’re young enough, old enough, smart enough and strong enough to achieve your goals.
Don’t let false beliefs stop you from moving beyond yourself. And certainly don’t get sidetracked by other people who are not on track. Life is too short to wait. Every new day is another chance to change your life. Every great accomplishment starts with the decision to try.
Trust that little voice inside your head that says, what if… and then go and do it.
Give yourself a fair chance. You would be surprised how often what if works. And no, you’re not obligated to win every time. You’re obligated to keep trying…to do the best you can do every day to improve upon what you learned yesterday.
Life is not easy, which is why you have to do hard things to be happy in life.
The things no one else is doing.
The things that frighten you.
The things others can’t do for you.
The things that make you question how much longer you can hold on and push forward.
Because those are the things that define you.
Those are the things that make the difference between existing and living.. between knowing the path and walking the path… between a life of defeat and a life filled with happiness and success. Adversity is an inevitability, and it’s much like walking in to a turbulent windstorm. As you fight to push through it, you not only gain strength, but it tears away from you all but the essential parts of you that cannot be torn.
Once you come out of the storm you see yourself as you really are in raw form, still holding the passions and values that move you, and little else.
These are the lusts that matter… the inner love and vows that define you.
It is this kind of love that drives you forward and even when the going gets tough.
It is this kind of love that strengthens the mind, body and soul.
